If you are wondering if pureed meal delivery is the right choice for you, keep reading to learn more about our program and what we can offer you.

What Makes Pureed Food Different from Soup?

While both types of foods are nonsolid, can be eaten with a spoon, and may include some similar ingredients, they are quite different from one another.

Typically, a pureed meal blends multiple ingredients together into a uniform mixture and, depending on ingredients, can be served hot or cold. Pureed foods are also thicker and more viscous than soup broths. Because of this, a spoonful of pureed food is less likely to drip or fall of your spoon.

Soups often contain multiple separate ingredients placed in a bowl filled with broth. Here, you may have multiple individual solid foods mixed together. Soup broth is also usually more watery and less viscous than a pureed meal and is more difficult to keep on your spoon.

Pureed foods are an excellent solution for both seniors that experience difficulty swallowing solid food and those who are dealing with fine motor conditions that may struggle with holding a spoon steady. The food will remain on the spoon if the person’s hand shakes slightly while holding it and will not fall off before reaching your mouth like a soup likely will.

Are Pureed Foods Healthy?

As with any type of food, the nutritional value of pureed food is determined by the ingredients in it. In our kitchen, we only use fresh ingredients that are hand-selected by a team of nutritionists and chefs to create something that’s not only healthy, but also a delicious experience where the individual flavors can shine through.
